In Oct, 2007, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kids II is voluntarily recalling approximately 35,000 Baby Einstein Discover & Play Color Blocks. The paint used on the turtle located on the blue block contains lead in amounts that exceed US lead standards.
Kids II has not received any reports of injuries.
Consumers should take this product away from children immediately and CLICK HERE for information on receiving a free replacement.
The blue color block is one of four blocks in the Model 30726 and Model 30881 Baby Einstein Discover & Play Color Blocks set. The blocks are made of soft textures and come in different colors. The blue block, which is the only one subject to recall, has an image of a turtle on one side. Only certain date codes sold since June 2007 are subject to recall.
